Living with Spirits
How to get through a haunting with your sanity in tact.
1. Keep a journal - Writing the events down will help you feel better about what's going on, help you figure out exactly what is going on, and keeping a detailed log of the activity can aid paranormal investigators in helping you, whether you can have an investigation done or not. Writing down the events, times, and places can help to identify a pattern to the activity.
2. Learn to meditate - Meditation stills your mind and helps you to reach your inner strength and spirituality.
3. Exercise - This can help you take your mind off of the activity, and it helps you to feel better about yourself, which is important when going through any kind of tough time. Try yoga, weightlifting, walking/jogging, or any other sport that you enjoy.
4. Read - Find books, websites, magazines, etc. on the paranormal and read all you can. Knowledge is power; the more you know about what is causing the activity, the less scary it becomes.
5. Religion - If you are religious, this is a great place to turn for strength and support. Pray, read the Bible or other religious text, meditate, and participate in other religious activities.
6. Get out of the house - Do something you enjoy and that will take your mind off of the activity. If you are constantly thinking about it, it will only make the situation worse.
7. Find someone to talk to - Having someone to just talk to helps a great deal. Find someone you trust not to judge you, a friend, a family member, or someone else. If you feel like there is no one, you can always talk to me. Just e-mail me at samnmaine@yahoo.com with "Support for the Haunted" in the subject, and I'll get back to you ASAP.
